Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing is giving us a sneak peak of their new children’s wear line, Balmain Kids and it’s all shades of adorable.
Explaining the inspiration behind starting up a kids line, Olivier told Bustle Magazine, “I think I first thought about designing kids wear when I dressed North.
“I had a conversation with Kim, and that was the beginning of how I really understood that the Balmain universe can also belong to kids.
He also added that the Balmain army is open to all as shown in the diversity of the kid models. “When you see the Balmain children’s pieces, you can see the references that are actually part of the Balmain women’s and men’s wardrobes.
“Balmain is also about diversity, and I think the casting and the pictures show that no matter where you come from, the Balmain army is open and all the kids from the world are a part of it.”
The 55-pieces collection which will launch in June features tulle tutus, double breasted jackets, pants fur coats, shoes and more designed much like the adult collection but in a more age-appropriate way.
According to Olivier, “These are the same looks that, over the years, moms and dads have repeatedly pleaded with me to produce for their kids.”
