Bereaved singer, Celine Dion has broken her silence on the death of her husband, Rene Angelil who died on January 14 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Celine makes a public statement one week after the state funeral service of her husband which was streamed live for fans around the world. In a statement released on her official website, the singer wrote;
“My family and I are deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support from so many people who have touched our lives during these past few days.
We have felt your love for René, and your prayers and compassion have helped us during this most difficult time… more than you’ll ever know. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
“I would also like to sincerely thank the Quebec Government for honouring René with National Funerals as well as the many individuals and organizations who came together to hold such a beautiful tribute in his name,” continues Dion.
“We will never forget all of the kindness that you have bestowed upon us.”
The note was signed by Celin Dion on behalf of her family, including her sons with Angelil (Charles and twins Nelson and Eddy) and the late music manager’s adult children.
