The charred remains of an unfortunate airline passenger was found in a small town near Mogadishu after he was sucked out of a plane at 10,000 feet.
The passenger was on board Daallo Airlines Airbus A321 , en route to Djibouti, when an explosion rocked the plane on Tuesday.
Witnesses say the man was on fire before he was sucked out of a gaping hole in the plane’s fuselage.
About 75 passengers were evacuated from the plane when it landed back at Mogadishu International Airport, according to CNN.com
Two other passengers suffered minor injuries.
The explosion occurred over Somalia as the plane ascended to a cruising altitude of 30,000 feet.
Panic ensued among the passengers as the plane made a dramatic turn and descent back to the airport. “I think it was a bomb,” said the pilot, Vladimir Vodopivec.
“Luckily, the flight controls were not damaged, so I could return and land at the airport. We lost pressure in the cabin. Thank God it ended well.” Officials believe the blast was an act of terrorism.
