The president, Muhammadu Buhari has ordered a full scale investigation into the cause of an unknown disease that has led to the death of several Jigawa people.
This was made known in a statement released on Wednesday by Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.
Shehu said Buhari directed the Minister of Heath, Isaac Adewole to investigate and to deploy all the necessary machinery to combat the outbreak of the disease.
The disease has affected Gidan Dugus village of Wangara district, Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa state and has killed a number of persons in the area.
Shehu said Buhari, in a telephone call to Governor Abubakar Badaru Tuesday evening to find out the details of the incident, commiserated with the governor and the families of the victims.
He said the president assured the governor that the Federal Government would provide the necessary support to contain the spread of the disease.
