Netflix cancels Louis CK program after five women accuse him of inappropriate sexual behavior

Netflix announced this week that it would cancel the show of comedian Louis CK after several women accused him of masturbating in their presence.

The company was not the only one to take action on the matter. HBO has also distanced itself from CK. Additionally, The Orchard, the distributor of his upcoming movie I Love You, Daddy, canceled the premiere of the project.

The scandal comes after the New York Times published the stories of five women who described CK’s behavior with them. Two of the women, Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov, who were also comedians, commented that CK had asked them if they could show them their genitals. At first, the women thought it was a joke, but they said CK proceeded to strip and masturbate in front of them.

On another occasion, another woman claims that CK asked her if she could masturbate in front of him. She refused. In addition, there was also the story of the woman who called CK to invite him to her show and who claims that she could hear the comedian masturbating while talking to her on the phone. Finally, another woman said that she had agreed to see CK masturbate in front of her when he worked as a producer on a television show.

The CK program with Netflix was planned but had not yet been produced. HBO announced that the comedian would not be present at a charity event for people with autism and would be withdrawing their HBO On Demand series. Additionally, the future of the movie I Love You, Daddy , whose premiere was canceled, is uncertain.

CK admitted that the accusations against him were true in a statement on Friday. In the statement, the comedian said he had convinced himself that what he was doing was fine because “I never showed my penis to a woman without asking her first”. However, he says that over time he has realized that he abused his power in his interactions with these women.

“I regret my actions and I have tried to learn from them. I have also tried to run away from them. Now I am aware of the impact of my actions. Yesterday I realized that my actions with women who admired me made me feel bad about myself and caused them to be cautious in the presence of other men who had never put them in that situation … ”

After the CK statement was released, comedians Goodman and Wolov, who commented that CK undressed and started masturbating in front of them, responded on Twitter.

“You asked but we never said yes.”
