The sedan based on the new Polo was presented yesterday in Brazil. It is called Volkswagen Virtus and will hit the market next January.
After the debut of the new generation of Polo with Latin American specifications, yesterday the German firm presented the Volkswagen Virtus in Brazil.
The new Volkswagen Virtus has been developed on the MQB A0 platform, the model that gives life to the new Polo, as well as the new SEAT Ibiza and other models of similar dimensions of the Volkswagen Group.
As for its exterior design, the sedan comes with a five-door model, while the rear adopts a format already known in the most recent models of the German brand.
With regard to the interior, the Virtus adopts a format similar to the new Polo, including the dash board of the Volkswagen Group and an endowment that includes multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, ASR, TPMS, ISOFIX , hill start assistance , traction control, plus power steering, automatic climate control , information and entertainment system with eight-inch touch screen , integrated navigation, digital control panel , LED daytime running lights, alloy wheels up to 17 inches , etc.
The engine offer for the new Virtus has the same engine with the new Latin American Polo and they are all gasoline. The range starts with the MPI 1.0 liter developing 75 hp, in addition to MSI 1.6 – liter with 110 hp power both with five – speed manual gearbox. As a more powerful option is the 1.0-liter Turbo TSI that develops a power of 116 hp and that is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission .
Its arrival at the concessionaires is scheduled for the month of January , initially in Brazil and then in the rest of the markets of the region, although at the moment the German firm has not disclosed what their prices will be.
