Eden Hazard transfer to Real Madrid under threat from Marco Asensio

Chelsea star Eden Hazard could see his move to Real Madrid scuppered by Marco Asensio, according to reports in Spain.

Eden Hazard has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid and the Belgian has done little to quell the rumours.

The 26-year-old admitted this week he “admires” the La Liga side and revealed his plans to one day leave Stamford Bridge.
However, his dream move to the Bernabeu may have to be put on ice, according to Spanish outlet Don Balon .

The report says Marco Asensio is not keen on Hazard joining Real and will threaten to leave if he signs.

Asensio has been a stand-out player for Real in recent months but he is still struggling to hold down a place in the starting XI.

He has started just 11 of his 20 appearances for Real this term and reportedly feels the arrival of Hazard would shunt him further down the pecking order.
The 21-year-old wants to be the No 1 choice to fill the gaps when Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo are not available.

And he is said to have warned the club he is not there to warm the bench, despite signing a long-term deal in September until 2023.

Don Balon claim Zinedine Zidane is desperate to bring in Hazard, whatever the costs, leaving Florentino Perez with a difficult situation to manage.

Speaking this week about a potential move away from Chelsea, Hazard said: “When I feel the desire to leave, I’ll leave. But, for now, I’m a Blue.

“We know the admiration that I have for Real, but I’m at Chelsea. Every year, things were said about me but I stayed.”

“In Lille, I was announced in Paris but I stayed. And in Chelsea, people always said that I’m leaving, but I’m still here.”
