Mr 2 Kay’s manager says Burna Boy’s fate not in their hands
Following Burna Boy’s involvement in a robbery attack on his colleague Mr 2 Kay, the whereabout of Burna Boy remains unknown.
After the arrest of one of Burna Boy’s managers by the Lagos state police command, Burna’s management Spaceship Entertainment has denied the singers involvement in the crime.
Mr . 2 Kay, whose real name is Abiye David Jumbo was robbed at gunpoint in his room at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos. The robbery happened at about 11pm on Sunday, October 22, 2017.
According to 2 Kay’s statement, the robbers, 4 in number, gained access into his room after he mistook one of them for room service. The reportedly forced their way into his room and waved a gun with threats to shoot him if he made a noise .
Speaking with Sunday Scoop, James Silas who is Mr 2 Kay’s manager made reference to a recent statement made by the Lagos State Police Commissioner where it was reveled that Burna Boy paid the armed robbers to rob Mr 2 kay.
James Silas said: “The police commissioner has said it all. The matter is in the hands of the Nigerian police and there is nothing much we can do or say about it at this point . All the things the police said are true. We have no reasons to fabricate anything. The armed robbers said they were sent by Burna Boy.
“The industry is funny ; so , we’ve have decided to handle the situation carefully. When the time is right , Mr. 2 Kay will address the issue himself. But for now, we don’t want to be in the middle of all the drama. You can see that Mr. 2 Kay has yet to speak about this issue.”
There were unconfirmed reports that Mr 2 Kay was going to sue the hotel the robbery incident happened. But Jame Silas says he doesn’t think they have the right to sue the management of Eko Hotel. He said: “…but they (Eko Hotel) have been in touch with us. We saw the news; we don’t know where it came out from. They have not promised us anything and we are not expecting anything from them for now”.
