Real Madrid have made contact with Chelsea over taking David Luiz to the Bernabeu.
The Chelsea defender’s future is thought to be in doubt after Antonio Conte admitted he was unsure if the Brazilian would be part of his plans going forward.
Luiz was dropped for Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Manchester United earlier this month and he has made just one appearance since.
With his playing time limited, Real Madrid are ready to offer him a way out.
French publication Le10 Sport claim Zinedine Zidane’s side have been in talks with Chelsea over his availability and are hopeful of a January switch.
The report states Madrid are looking at the option of taking him on loan until the end of the season with the option to buy in the summer.
Madrid are keen to bring in the experienced 30-year-old as competition for Raphael Varane.
The Frenchman is under contract with Los Blancos until 2022 but Le10 Sport claim the coaching staff of Madrid are unconvinced by his displays this term and a transfer at the end of the season has not been completely ruled out.
Should Luiz depart for Madrid in January on loan, and then permanently in May, it would be the second time he’s left
Chelsea in his career.
Luiz’s current deal with Chelsea until 2019.
