We will use 2018 budget as instrument against EFCC —Senate
Senator Samuel Anyanwu says the senate no longer sees Mr. Ibrahim Magu as Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mr Samuel Anyanwu who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Public Petitions, Ethics and privledges, revealed this to a press conference while answering questions concerning his committee.
Mr Samuel Anyanwu also said there were a lot of petitions from Nigerians against the EFCC boss, but didn’t invite Mr. Magu because the “committee does not see Ibrahim Magu as the Acting Chairman and that is why he was not invited”.
“There are petitions against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission by some Nigerians, but my committee does not see Ibrahim Magu as the Acting Chairman and that is why he was not invited”, Anyanwu said.
The lawmaker further said his committee would use 2018 budget defense to track down Magu.
“The 2018 budget is here, we will use it as instrument against EFCC for defying Senate resolution on Ibrahim Magu”, Anyanwu submitted.
