This is what the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class looks in the first leaked photos
In just one week, Mercedes-Benz will take advantage of the NAIAS or the Detroit Auto Show to present the latest range of one of its most iconic models.
At first sight it is clear that the legendary G-Class is renewed in an obvious way both inside and outside – although it maintains its square shape that has been preserved generation after generation since the launch of the model in 1979.
As we already knew, the interior maintains the essence of the model but it looks much more modern and technological with a lot of metallic moldings including the steering wheel. It comes also with a 360 degrees vision camera or more space for the rear occupants (150 mm more space for the legs, for example).
Although, right now, the range of engines and the technical characteristics of the G Class are unknown until its presentation in Detroit, the German brand has confirmed that the model launches a new independent front suspension that will improve its off-road skills.
The model also launches a new 9G-Tronic automatic transmission of torque converter and nine ratios, together with the essential permanent total traction system (40% front, 60% behind), gearbox or the three classic G Class differential locks.
