6 Ways to Improve Your Life in 7 Days 

Improving your life doesn’t have to take months or years. There are many small things you can do now that will change the course of your life.

1. Distance yourself from toxic people

If you have a friend or family member that you dread hearing from or seeing, they are probably a toxic person in your life. You should distance yourself from anyone who brings down your mood or energy after (or even before) interacting with them. People who always com plain, gossip, or act like the perpetual victim are types of toxic people you want to avoid. To improve your life, spend your time with people who uplift and inspire you. You will feel a sense of relief after walking away from toxic people.

2. Take a daily walk

Walking will benefit your life in a few ways. It will get you out the house and into the fresh air and natural light, which will help to boost your mood and help you to feel less isolated. This idea is a particularly good one if you work from home. Walking every day will also help you burn calories.

If you don’t workout or move much throughout the day, this is important. Walking can help to cut your risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

3 Declutter

Are you overwhelmed by the amount of stuff in your home? You can declutter in seven days if you put your mind to it. The trick is to stick to one area at a time. If you want to declutter the kitchen, then finish it before you move on to the next area. Completing one area will motivate you to do more.

The look of a room changes dramatically when you declutter it. It will become a place that doesn’t stress you out, but a place you want to spend more time. If you have more books than you do shelves to store them on, consider donating books you’re not interested in anymore.

lf you have a collection of DVDs or CDs, do the same. Clothes also have a habit of piling up on us over the years. Stop holding on to things in case you need them one day.

4. Set up a savings account

If you don’t have a savings account yet, set one up this week and deposit money into it. It doesn’t matter if you’re twenty or forty-five, a savings account should be considered a requirement. Saving money is necesmry for the case of emergency, or if you want to make a significant purchase in the future, or for retirement. There is always a reason to save. If you are likely to forget to add to your savings account, then set up money to be transferred each month automatically. If you can only manage 5000 naira each month, it’s better than nothing. When you earn more, bump up the amount you save every month.

5. Practice being grateful

It’s easy to forget how lucky you are until you lose your phone, power goes out for days, or your car breaks down.

It’s normal to become annoyed when you suddenly don’t have access to things that make your life better. Being grateful for these things every day is essential. Each morning or night, list three things that you’re thankful for; this will promote optimism and positivity.

6. Start using todo list

How many days have you felt you wasted because you didn’t get things done? If you used todo lists, you would get more done and have a sense of accomplishment. Instead of trying to remember what you want to do, create a list to keep you on track. Before you sleep at night, make a list of a few things you want to accomplish the next day. If you want to do a load of laundry, clean the basement, or wash the dishes, add it to the list. Don’t worry about how big or small the items are. Your goal is to get stuff done. You will immediately see your productivity go up when you start using todo lists.
