Alexis Sanchez: Ian Wright makes brutal admission after Man Utd star makes debut
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has admitted he felt “sick” after watching Alexis Sanchez make his Manchester United debut last night.
Jose Mourinho praises Alexis Sanchez after Man Utd debut
Sanchez was handed his first United start by Jose Mourinho yesterday as they eased past Yeovil into the next round of the FA Cup.
The Chile international failed to mark his debut with a goal, but he did pick up two assists for Marcus Ashford and Ander Herrera.
Jesse Lingard was brought on in place of Sanchez in the 72nd minute who went on to grab the games third while Romelu Lukaku completed the 4-0 win.
But all attention was on how Sanchez would fair on his first appearance since his move from the Emirates earlier this week.
Bar his two assist, it was an average performance from the 29-year-old who gave the ball away too often in the first half.
However, there is plenty of excitement on the red side of Manchester that Sanchez will be crucial to Mourinho’s plans for the near future.
Looking from an Arsenal perspective, Wright couldn’t help but feel aggrieved at seeing Sanchez playing for his former side’s direct rivals.
“There was a bit of sick in my mouth at that one, to be totally honest,” he said on Match of the Day.
“It’s done but it’s a shame to see but it’s a new chapter for him.
“I don’t know what to say, it’s still fresh; it’s still hurting.”
