With dropper, finally we are saying how long it will be to see the first episode of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones. They say it’s 2019. And now Maisie Williams, aka Arya Stark, has leaked the month.
Game of Thrones will return in April 2019. As revealed by Williams in an interview with Metro , the series will end shooting in December of this year and it will take four months of post-production to fit everything in the final season, because there is a lot “that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities.”
On the future of Arya Stark, Maisie Williams said that her story had been bitter, twisted and violent, so she would like her to find peace. “I would love for Arya to find her true identity again and put aside the anger and thirst for revenge that have accompanied her on this trip,” she explained. “I would love for her to be happy.”
On the end of the series, and unlike her partner Peter Dinklage ( who thinks it’s time to finish ), Williams said it will be strange not to see the [rest of the] cast so often. “We all get along very well and we are a very united group.” She also said she is looking forward to having free time to “choose what I want to do with [next year].”
The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will consist of six episodes of a longer duration than we are used to, perhaps as long as a movie . Actors such as Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) announced that the finale will be “the greatest thing that has ever been done on television”. The first filtered images of the shoot indicate that there will be at least one epic battle.
