Chelsea star Eden Hazard insists he is ‘happy’ at Chelsea but has not ruled out a move to Real Madrid.
The Blues fear they could lose the Belgian in the summer having been unable to tie him down to a new deal.
Real Madrid are expected to renew their interest in him at the end of the season having tried to sign him in previous windows.
But with Los Blancos set for a huge overhaul of their squad following a disappointing campaign, Chelsea know they face another few months of uncertainty regarding their prized asset.
When quizzed over one day playing at the Bernabeu, Eden Hazard told Spanish newspaper Marca: “In football you never know, I’m happy in Chelsea and focused on them.”
Zinedine Zidane has a long-standing interest in the 27-year-old, and Hazard has made no secret of his admiration for the former France World Cup winner.
Asked if he welcomed the kind words Zidane has said about him in the past, Hazard added: “Of course it is, I remember 10 years ago when he spoke about me for the first time, it was incredible.
“He was my idol when I was a boy, I’ve seen thousands of videos about him and now he is the manager of one of the best clubs in the world, so yes, it’s a luxury.
“But I don’t want to stop, I want to keep working and trying on the pitch and then yes, I love it when people talk about me well.”
Hazard remains under contract with Chelsea until 2020 and the Blues are ready to make him the club’s highest paid player.
But along with his team-mate Thibaut Courtois, he is thought to be holding out for Madrid to come knocking.
Courtois seemingly put his potential suitors on alert over his availability with his comments about wanting to return to the Spanish capital this week.
“My personal situation is related to the city of Madrid,” he said.
“My two children live there with their mum. I have my daughter every day on FaceTime. She often tells me that she misses me. My son is still too small to communicate like that.
“Whenever I have the opportunity, I try to return to Spain. As a situation, it is not always easy. Yes, my heart is in Madrid. It is logical and understandable.’
“If they want me, they have to contact Chelsea. We’ll see.
But they have not done that. What is certain is that one day I will return to Madrid. I love Spain, I love the city, I spent three wonderful years there [with Atletico Madrid]. It is there that I became an adult.”
