The Korean brand Kia has just shown its new Kia Ceed 2018 today , days before its official presentation at the Geneva Motor Show . The compact designed and manufactured in Europe, is renamed Ceed , instead of Cee’d .
The third generation of the Kia Ceed that has sold more than 1.28 million units since its birth in 2006, hopes to increase its sales with the latest model.

New platform and sensible engines
The Kia Ceed 2018 is built on the new K2 platform from Kia and, although its wheelbase remains with respect to its predecessor (2.65 meters), it is now 20 millimeters wider and 23 millimeters lower. Kia highlights a trunk of 395 liters .
The engines will have three options of gasoline: a 1.4-liter MPI access with 100 hp , a 1.0 T-GDi of 120 hp and the 1.4 T-GDi “Kappa” of 140 hp . On the other hand, there will be a new diesel engine “U3”, with a 1.6 liter CRDi block of 115 or 136 hp , and 280 Nm of maximum torque. With this engine, it is expected that CO2 emissions will be below 110 g / km in the new WLTP cycle.
All engines will be combined as standard with a six -ratio manual gearbox , although in the case of the 1.4 T-GDi and 1.6 CRDi, there will also be available a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox.
A lot of technology and assistance systems
In addition to the 7-inch floating screen -serial- or the 8-inch screen associated with the navigator, the Ceed has the factory keyless access, automatic lights, Bluetooth connectivity, a wireless charger for mobile phones or a driving mode selector.
