The Google Nexus have died: Android P will not have support for the Nexus 5X, 6P or Pixel C

Google’s flagship family of smartphones and tablets was replaced by the new Pixel almost two years ago, but the company was still updating them to the latest version of Android. But not anymore. Android P will not reach the Nexus 5X or the Nexus 6P.
Google presented in September 2015, the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P, manufactured by LG and Huawei respectively. For many years the Nexus were the best Android smartphones on the market (it could not be different, considering that they were created by Google), and the Nexus 4 and 5 were incredibly popular to have a bit of everything: good hardware, the latest Android version in pure state and a very affordable price. But in 2016 Google replaced the Nexus range with the new Pixel , betting on the highest-end market .

However, although the company used to have its own devices updated for several years, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will become obsolete after just over two years. Google has confirmed to Ars Technica that these two phones will not receive the final version of Android P, nor will the Pixel C tablet, which arrived on the market in October 2015.

The Pixels are the future and present of Google smartphones. If you have a Nexus 5X or 6P and want to install the next version of Android, you will have to use an unofficial ROM.
