Microsoft recently dared to venture into the health sector. It recently announced at the annual conference called Society of Systems and Health Management (SSHIM) in Las Vegas that it would use its Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help with cardiology issues.
It also announced that his team was going to collaborate with India’s most recognized hospital system, Apollo Hospitals.
Its main interest is to develop a new artificial intelligence from an existing one. It would use Microsoft Intelligent Network for Eyecare (MINE), a software focused on eye health, to develop an AI capable of preventing risks of heart disease and help doctors in the treatments.
For the Managing Director of the Apollo Hospitals Group, Sangita Reddy, this opportunity will make a great impact in the world: ‘This collaboration marks a paradigm shift for patients and the management of diseases that are difficult to communicate in the world. Given our large clinical database and a significant group of clinical talent, this partnership will help to impact the global burden of heart disease.”
Microsoft also highlighted the good result of the joint work that the two organizations will have. The corporate vice president of artificial intelligence development, Peter Lee, commented on the matter: “This unique collaboration with Apollo brings together our knowledge in artificial intelligence and machine learning and Apollo’s experience in cardiology. The intelligent systems we create can change the lives of patients and the work of health professionals allowing access to health for all”.
The use of machine learning or artificial learning is fundamental for this collaboration. This concept attributes the capacity to an artificial intelligence that develops a learning similar to that of a human being.
