Happening Now: Heavy Protest Rocks National Assembly Over Plot To Impeach Saraki

Heavy protest is currently ongoing at the National Assembly over the siege on the National Assembly by officers of the Department of State Security Services (DSS), NAIJAROKO has learnt.

Earlier today DSS operatives prevented Senators and House of Reps members from gaining access to the National Assembly. It was learned that the move was allegedly part of a plot to impeach the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The group called ‘The Defenders of Democracy’ are currently protesting at the National Assembly complex accusing the presidency of running a dictatorship government.

Meanwhile, some Senators loyal to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki have already forced their way into the National Assembly.

Recall that the leadership of the National Assembly had yesterday called for an emergency meeting today, Tuesday, at 12 noon.

They are currently in front of the Senate chambers ahead of their meeting.

Senators in the complex include Senators Biodun Olujimi, Rafiu Ibrahim, Aidoko Atai, Gessom, Ogembe, Ben Bruce, Isa Misau, Peter Nwaboshi, Solomon Lah, Shittu, Emmanuel Bwacha, Gilbert and others.
