It’s official. The next version of Google’s operating system for mobile devices, before now known simply as ” Android P “, will be called Android Pie. The upgrade to version 9.0 of the operating system is now available, starting with the company’s Pixel smartphones.

However, in the official release of the new version, some of these features are not yet included, such as the “digital wellbeing” or “Slices” functions, a system that allows to see in real time the information within an app, for so you can perform several tasks without jumping from one to another.
One of its biggest innovations is a radical change in its interface. The three virtual buttons in Android, which were at the bottom of the screen, have been replaced by a single button in the form of a pill that will allow browsing in the menu of apps, multitasking and other functions through gestures.
Android Pie also has improvements in battery management and more news. If you have a Google Pixel or an Essential Phone you can update it from today to the new version of Android, from the section on system information in the configuration menu. Otherwise, and as is traditional, you will have to wait until the manufacturer of your mobile device updates it.
